Developed by FGN, this system aims to deliver superior intonation and articulation compared to conventional guitars and basses. All frets are embedded into the fretboard in a slightly curved pattern, ensuring that every string intersects every fret at a precise 90-degree angle. This guarantees minimal contact between the string and the fret, while also ensuring an exactly uniform scale length for each individual string—an aspect that, with traditional fretting, effectively varies. The C.F.S. represents an innovative solution for the fretting of traditional guitars and basses; it facilitates clearer articulation and a more nuanced tone—one that adds depth to chords and cuts through the band mix optimally when playing single notes.
The Neo Classic series is a tribute to old classics with their own unique facets. With their traditional feel, they are a workhorse for concert, touring and studio musicians. The solid and precise construction qualities guarantee an optimal sound and a great playing experience! The frets used by FGN for the CFS are made of completely regular, non-pre-bent fret material. They get their radius by being inserted into the slots milled into the fingerboard with a radius and can therefore be easily replaced by a guitar maker if new frets are required!
