Ernie Ball Slinky Flatwound Bass Strings combine the traditional, soft feel of flatwound strings with the performance of cobalt. The strings are equipped with a flat outer winding made of SuperBright Cobalt and an inner cobalt winding for an optimal ratio between the hexagonal core wire and the winding. The new flatwound bass strings are the first flats that feel like flatwounds and sound like roundwounds
