The late 1950s and early 1960s were crucial for the development of the Precision Bass. Many new details were added that are now synonymous with the P-Bass. By 1960, its original Telecaster design was barely recognizable; it now featured a Strat-style headstock, ergonomic contours, electronics in the pickguard, and a bridge with four saddles. The 1960 Precision Bass represents precisely this era.
The American Vintage II 1966 Jazz Bass, with its Hard Rock Maple neck and bold U-shaped profile, offers plenty of substance for the fretting hand. The 7.25" round lath rosewood fingerboard features vintage tall frets. Typical of the 1966 production year, this J-Bass features white neck binding, pearloid dots, "lollipop" tuning pegs, two volume controls with master tone, a matching painted headstock, and a four-ply tortoiseshell pickguard. The strings run over four threaded saddles, and the sound is provided by two Pure Vintage '66 Jazz Bass pickups.
