The late 1950s and early 1960s were pivotal in the development of the Precision Bass. Many new features were added that are now synonymous with the P-Bass. By 1960, little remained of its original Telecaster design; it now featured a Strat-style headstock, ergonomic contours, electronics integrated into the pickguard, and a bridge with four saddles.
