The name Tony Franklin is inextricably linked with the sweet, floating sound of a fretless bass. Whether with Roy Harper, The Firm, Blue Murder, or Kenny Wayne Shepherd, the sought-after session bassist is among the best in his craft. And he knows what a classic fretless bass needs to rock. So we dedicated a personal instrument to him. The Tony Franklin Fretless Precision Bass owes several special features to its namesake. These include the Tony Franklin Signature Jazz Bass bridge pickup with hex screw lugs and ceramic magnets. The neck features an American Series Precision Bass neck pickup. You can control the pickups with the 3-way switch. The alder body has a traditional nitrocellulose finish. The maple neck with its modern C-profile features an untreated fretless ebony fingerboard. Yes, it feels exactly as it sounds – playable, smooth, and supple. For orientation, we've added small dots on the sides as fret markers. A special detail: a vintage-style tuner with a Hipshot Bass Xtender Drop-D tuning bar on the E string.
