The new Gallien Krueger NEO IV range builds on the previous version with improved looks, construction and features. The new form factor is shared with the Fusion and Legacy combos, making them the ideal expansion enclosure for those combos, as well as standalone enclosures for GK's Legacy and Fusion heads.
Additionally, the cabinets feature lightweight plywood construction with ample bracing, resulting in an extremely robust cabinet. The inside of the cabinet is covered with damping material to absorb high frequencies from the rear of the speaker and prevent them from escaping the port and interfering with the high frequencies from the front of the speaker. This results in a smooth and pleasing high-end response. A metal grille and extremely robust cabinet coating with metal corners ensure a durable cabinet that can withstand heavy use and maintain its good looks over time.
Last but not least, the new NEO IV series includes custom neodymium woofers designed and manufactured by GK. Only die-cast frames are used, which offer greater durability and power handling than the cheaper and more common stamped frame designs. The voice coils are made of edge-wound aluminum tape wire, which results in a speaker that is far more efficient and offers greater power handling compared to the more common round wires. The NEO IV also features a true crossover and a system to protect the horn from excessive power peaks.
