In Spector’s almost 50-year history, the legendary NS bass has been played by countless well-known bassists on countless recordings and stages.
In the brand’s eventful history, no bassist has become as synonymous with Spector as Doug Wimbish.
After Doug received his first Spector NS basses in 1987, he used these instruments in legendary recordings and performances with artists such as Living Colour, Mick Jagger, Jeff Beck, Annie Lennox, Seal, Depeche Mode, Lee “Scratch” Perry, Madonna and many, many other artists.
Now, Spector's USA Custom Shop is proud to introduce the Doug Wimbish USA Signature Series. The collection includes one four- and five-string DW-4/DW-5 model each. Each bass has been carefully specified to match the unique characteristics of Doug's vintage instruments. Including unique neck cuts, nut widths, pickup positions, and even custom-wound EMG pickups voiced along with the pickups from Doug's 1987 Spector basses.
