The BB features a laminated alder/maple/alder body construction. The hard maple core increases body rigidity and accentuates the midrange to cut through a band mix, allowing for a more even transfer of vibrations between the body and maple neck for unparalleled resonance and sustain.
6-Bolt Miter Neck Joint!
The miter neck joint joins the neck more closely and securely to the body, fusing these two separate components into a single unit. Compared to a conventional bolt joint, the miter joint provides more efficient transmission of string vibrations throughout the body, resulting in outstanding sustain and resonance that brings every note to life.
Custom-Wound Pickups!
The BB's individually wound pickups are designed to fit standard pickup cavities and offer a mid-high output with vintage voicing for great tone in any setting. BB basses come equipped with pickups specifically chosen for the distinct character of each model in the series. They deliver a uniquely versatile sound while maintaining the classic BB tone.
Adjustable bridge and nut for precise tone shaping!
BB basses feature diagonal body-through stringing, where the strings are angled at the nut and run at a 45-degree angle through the instrument to the bridge. The strings can also be routed to the rear of the bridge, which is equipped with an adjustable nut that can be set to two different angles for more precise tone shaping and improved playability. The rounder side of the nut produces a slightly mellower tone, while the more angled side creates a slightly tighter sound. The 700 and Pro models feature the Vintage Plus bridge, designed with a diagonal cut at the string-nut contact point to create a more stable pivot and produce a clear, well-defined tone. Brass saddles provide a slightly deeper bass response, while the steel saddle plate offers improved responsiveness. All screws and springs are made of stainless steel to protect against corrosion. The 400 is equipped with a "Vintage Light" bridge with an offset low E string.
