The Ashdown company is known for its amplifiers and effects devices, which it produces primarily for basses but also for guitars. The British manufacturer can be found in Chelmsford, Essex, England. Ashdown was founded in 1997 by Mark Gooday, Trace Elliot's chief engineer and manager, and he designed the logo based on the engine badge of the Austion-Heale sports car brand. Ashdown's unwavering focus on design and innovation is clearly evident in its product range: tube and hybrid amplifiers, combos, practice amps, effects pedals and more!
Ashdown Engineering remains true to its roots, today as well as in 1997!
Based on the features of the ABM series, the ROOTMASTER series was developed for those who desire the signature Ashdown sound, power, and reliability, while keeping their equipment lightweight and portable.
The Ashdown Rootmaster 800 EVO III is the ultimate solution for bassists seeking power, versatility, and mobility. Designed to deliver the iconic Ashdown tone, this amplifier boasts a range of features, including a comprehensive EQ, an Ashdown Sub-Harmonic Generator, a compression control, and a Valve Emulated Drive. With its robust and durable design, it is built to last. The EVO III also features an Analog Cab Sim Di output, allowing bassists to easily adapt their monitoring needs.
The Rootmaster 800 EVO III is a precision-engineered bass amplifier with a comprehensive EQ system, an Ashdown Sub-Harmonic Generator, a compression control, and a versatile Valve Emulated Drive. It's the bassist's Swiss Army knife, excelling in any musical environment, whether on stage or in the studio. In a world where silent stages and in-ear monitoring are becoming increasingly important, Ashdown remains true to its commitment to delivering first-class bass amplifiers.
The Rootmaster EVO III responds to the evolving needs of bassists and now features a new Analog Cab Sim Di output. This innovation offers a new level of flexibility in managing on-stage and front-of-house monitoring, making it easy to create an exceptional monitor mix.
The Rootmaster EVO III boasts an astounding 800 watts of power, making it well-suited for a wide range of applications. Versatile in terms of power requirements, the Rootmaster EVO III can operate on both 115 and 230 volts, making it a globetrotter's dream. The two Neutrik Speakon/TRS outputs ensure robust and reliable connections, and the frequency response ranges from -3dB at 17Hz to 30kHz, capturing the entire bass spectrum with unparalleled precision. The high- and low-impedance instrument inputs, as well as the line input, offer flexibility for a variety of basses and sources.
A balanced D.I. output ensures the signal is ready for the front-of-house mix, and a tuner output simplifies tuning setup. On the rear of the amplifier is a balanced D.I. with an XLR connector, providing a post-EQ and post-effects signal. This option is easily selected from the default Balanced setting on the front panel. But that's not all: Ashdown has developed a series of filters finely tuned to emulate the response of legendary ABM cabinets.
You can choose whether to use the CAB SIM DI or the BALANCED DI output via the XLR DI option to perfectly shape your sound. You can also choose between PORTED and SEALED cabinets, which affect the resonance and bass response of the sound. The SPEAKER option lets you choose between a 10" speaker, known for its tight, defined midrange, and a 15" speaker, prized for its depth and clarity.
Finally, the HORN option lets you add a high-end boost at around 5k, emulating the presence of a horn in a cabinet. The possibilities are endless and offer a level of customization that is second to none!
