Ashdown is known for its amplifiers and effects pedals, primarily for basses but also for guitars. The British manufacturer is located in Chelmsford, Essex, England. Ashdown was founded in 1997 by Mark Gooday, chief engineer and manager of Trace Elliot. He designed the logo based on the engine badge of the sports car brand Auth-Heale. Ashdown's unwavering focus on design and innovation is clearly evident in its product range: tube and hybrid amplifiers, combos, practice amps, effects pedals, and more!
Ashdown Engineering remains true to its roots, today just as it was in 1997!
The Ashdown UK-OBM-C112-500 is a UK-made, hand-built bass combo that packs a true 500 watts of power into a compact, lightweight kickback cabinet – ideal for rehearsals, gigs, and studio work, without the need for a separate head. At its heart is a high-quality 12" Sica speaker (plus horn) that delivers a powerful and clear sound, while the kickback design allows you to angle the combo upwards for better stage visibility. For quick, musical sound shaping, there's a 5-band EQ plus the classic Shape circuit for an instantly mix-ready basic tone. Connections for modern setups are also included: DI out for FOH/recording, an FX loop for pedals, and headphone out and line in for quiet practice with backing tracks. Visually, it comes in Ice Blue with Charcoal Tweed and a Silver Weave grille, and weighs only 13.5 kg.
