With the WL-50, powering your pedalboard wirelessly has never been easier. Based on a new BOSS technology, the WL-50 enables high-quality sound with simple plug-and-play operation, so you never have to deal with the inconvenience of traditional wireless systems again. The stompbox-style receiver fits seamlessly alongside your other pedals and features a docking port for charging the transmitter and automatically setting up the optimal wireless connection. In addition, you have a practical DC output that you can use to power other pedals on your board.
We're certain that once you get used to the uncomplicated wireless freedom of the WL-50, you'll never crave a wired pedalboard again! In addition to the quick and easy setup, you can fully enjoy the new freedom when playing - whether at home, jamming with friends or on the live stage. With the sound check you can control your sound from anywhere in the hall and thus find the perfect settings for your audience. You can also interact better with your bandmates and make your stage performance even more dynamic and entertaining.
Extremely fast BOSS wireless technology!
After the powerful BOSS radio technology was used for the first time in the wireless Katana-Air guitar amplifier, the WL-50 now also benefits from the outstanding sound quality and the large dynamic range. The system works in the 2.4 GHz frequency band and automatically finds the optimal channel to ensure maximum stable audio transmission without dropouts. In addition, thanks to the extremely low latency of just 2.3 ms, you won't hear any time lag when playing. Up to 14 BOSS radio systems can be used simultaneously in one room. This allows multiple musicians to benefit from wireless freedom at the same time.
More than just another pedal on your board!
The WL-50 is slightly smaller than a regular BOSS Compact pedal and can be powered in the same way as your other pedals. In this way, the WL-50 can be quickly and easily integrated into your pedalboard setup. Ideally, you place the WL-50 at the beginning of your signal chain and connect the output of the receiver to your first pedal. At the same time, the receiver has a conventional 6.3 mm jack input, so you can always fall back on a traditional guitar cable if necessary.
Integrated transmitter dock!
The WL-50 has an integrated dock that allows you to charge the transmitter and establish the radio connection. The slim format of the system is retained even when the transmitter is docked. The overall height then corresponds approximately to that of a normal BOSS pedal.
Connect and get started!
Once you've mounted the WL-50 on your board and charged the transmitter, you'll see: The wireless system is just as easy to use as a conventional guitar cable. Pair the transmitter with your receiver, wait about 10 seconds and then connect the transmitter to your instrument. That's all! During the docking process, the WL-50 automatically takes care of the optimal wireless connection without you having to make any further settings.
Cable simulation!
The WL-50 includes two selectable cable simulations that reproduce the natural capacitive effect of a guitar cable in conjunction with passive pickups. If you don't need a cable simulation, you can bypass the effect, for example on acoustic and electric guitars with an integrated preamp or instruments with active pickups.
Power distribution via the pedal!
As soon as the receiver is connected to the mains via a BOSS PSA-S adapter, it acts as a power distributor for other pedals on your board. By using an optional PCS-20A daisy chain cable, you can power multiple BOSS Compact Pedals in parallel.
Battery operation for mobile performances!
For street gigs and other on-the-go performance situations, it's usually easiest to power your pedals with batteries. The WL-50 receiver runs on two AA batteries for up to 7 hours. This way you can take your wireless setup with you wherever you go! In battery operation, the transmitter cannot be charged via the receiver. But don't worry - with a standard USB adapter (5 V / 500 mA or higher), which is also used for the current smartphone and tablet generation, you can easily charge your transmitter on the go.
