Daniel Kushner founded MONO in 2006. As both a drummer and a professional industrial designer, he combined his love for music with a vision to create innovative products for the modern musician. Growing up in the suburbs of Pennsylvania, Kushner played in various funk, hip-hop, and rock bands while studying design at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Design. It was there that he received the "Student Merit Award" from the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) for his senior thesis project, which focused on recyclable furniture made from waste paper. In 2002, Daniel Kushner moved to San Francisco to work for the international design firm IDEO. As a lead designer, he worked with companies such as Microsoft, Samsung, Hewlett-Packard, Procter & Gamble, and Bank of America. During his time at IDEO, he received multiple awards for his design work—designs that are still incorporated into products used daily by countless people. In 2006, Daniel Kushner brought his vision for his own company to life. After spending a year developing the design and creating countless prototypes for the initial product line, he launched MONO with the M80 series; the series quickly gained recognition for its innovative hybrid case/bag design for guitars and percussion instruments. The official launch at the 2007 Winter NAMM Show was an immediate success, instantly making MONO a topic of conversation among musicians worldwide.
M80 Classic Ultra Bass Case – The professional bass guitar case designed for maximum mobility and protection! The M80 Classic Ultra Bass Case is the modern evolution of MONO’s legendary M80 design, created specifically for bassists who value superior protection, high mobility, and well-thought-out functionality. Designed to fit most standard bass guitars, the case now offers increased storage space and is compatible with MONO’s patented Freeride Wheel System—ensuring stress-free transport whether on tour, at a gig, or in the studio. Mobility without compromise! Thanks to the patented Freeride Wheel System, the case can optionally be fitted with wheels, allowing you to easily roll your bass through airports, venues, or to the rehearsal space. Alternatively, its slim profile and ergonomically padded straps ensure comfortable backpack-style carrying—whatever the situation demands.
Enhanced protection for your bass! At the heart of the case lies the proven Headlock Protection System, which securely anchors your bass and shields it from impacts. For added peace of mind while traveling, a hidden pocket is integrated to hold an Apple AirTag or similar tracker. The rugged outer shell—made from water-resistant 1680D Ballistic Nylon and featuring a waterproof zipper and reflective details—makes the case both weather-resistant and durable.
Optimized storage for your gear! The expandable front pocket offers ample space for essentials like strings, tuners, cables, and tools. Practical internal compartments keep everything organized. Plus, compatibility with MONO Tick 2.0 and Tick+ 2.0 accessory cases allows you to flexibly expand your setup as needed.
