Daniel Kushner founded MONO in 2006. As a drummer and professional industrial designer, he combined his love of music with the vision of designing innovative products for the modern musician. Daniel KushnerGrowing up in suburban Pennsylvania, Kushner played in various funk, hip hop, and rock bands while studying design at the University of the Arts in Philadelphia and earning his Bachelor of Science degree in industrial design. Here he received the 'Student Merit Award' from the Industrial Designer Society of America (IDSA) for his thesis, which dealt with recyclable furniture made from waste paper. In 2002 Daniel Kushner moved to San Francisco to work for the international design company IDEO. As a leading designer, he looked after companies such as Microsoft, Samsung, Hewlett Packard, Proctor & Gamble and Bank of America. During his time at IDEO he received several awards for his design work, which are still used in products by many users on a daily basis. In 2006, Daniel Kushner implemented his vision for his own company. After spending a year designing countless prototypes for the first product line, he launched Mono with the M80 series, which quickly became known for its innovative hybrid case/bag design for guitars and percussion instruments. The official launch at the Winter NAMM Show in 2007 was an instant hit and immediately got MONO talking to musicians on an international level.
