Orange means real guitar amplifier history. It is now over 50 years since Cliff Cooper founded his company Orange with borrowed £50. To this day he is the sole owner and still controls many of the company's fortunes. From the very beginning, not only "rock-solid" British rock amps were manufactured, but also a focus on innovation. With the OMEC Digital, for example, Orange introduced a programmable guitar amplifier as early as 1975 (!!!)! Many other innovations followed, including the establishment of the so-called lunch box amp format with the introduction of the Tiny Terror. All of this did not go unnoticed - in addition to countless industry awards, Orange received the "Queen's Award for Enterprise and International Trade" for the third time in 2012, probably the highest and most honorable award a company can receive in England!
The AD200 is Orange's flagship bass amplifier. The new edition also combines all the functions and versatility that a modern bassist could wish for - all visually enhanced by the clean, pics-only control panel!
Designed under the premise that the best sound depends on the length of the signal path from guitar to speaker, the AD200 presents itself in a wonderfully uncomplicated no-nonsense design: inputs for active and passive instruments, a simple but powerful EQ and the clean switch to suppress the crunch in the sound if necessary.
Powered by four KT88 tubes with 200 watts, the AD200 produces deep, dynamic bass and warm, rich mids. The gain structure offers bassists of all styles from gentle cleans to hypersaturation. There is no lack of punch in any situation! And for those who want to maintain a crisp, clean tone even at high volumes, the Clean Switch turns off the classic high-gain fuzz of the Orange amps.
