Rickenbacker is undoubtedly one of the most traditional brands and pioneers in modern guitar manufacturing. Its distinctive design and unique tonal character have earned Rickenbacker its status as a rock 'n' roll legend. The seemingly endless list of Rickenbacker players reads like a "Who's Who" of music history. From the Beatles and Tom Petty to Lemmy from Motörhead, many stars appreciate the unmistakable sound of Rickenbacker guitars.
To this day, Rickenbacker instruments are manufactured exclusively in Santa Ana, California (USA).
With the 4003S/5 model, the long-established manufacturer Rickenbacker brings a fresh dynamic to its product lineup. Starting with the 2018 series, the model features minor updates. In addition to a solid Schaller 3D-5 bridge and wider string spacing, the basses are equipped with newly designed single-coil pickups. The pickup has been redesigned with two blade magnets positioned further outward toward the B-string. This creates a wider magnetic field, ensuring even signal pickup across all strings.
